Throughout pregnancy a mucus plug blocks the opening to the cervix to prevent bacteria from entering. Before labor, this mucus plug is expelled so that the cervix can open to allow the baby to pass through to prepare for delivery.

How soon after my mucus plug passes will labor begin?
Passing a mucus plug is a sign that your cervix is dilating and your body is starting to prepare for birth. Labor could be hours, days, or even weeks away as the cervix gradually opens over time.

What does a mucus plug look like?
A mucus plug may be clear, slightly pink or blood tinged in color. It may be stringy mucus or sticky discharge. Some women may not even notice the loss of their mucus plug because there is already so much vaginal discharge during pregnancy.

When should I call my health care provider?
If the mucus seems normal in color, there is no need to contact your health care provider immediately. You may just want to let them know at your next visit.

You should call your care provider immediately if your discharge suddenly becomes bright red and the amount is more than an ounce (about two tablespoons). You could be experiencing a complication such as placenta previa or placental abruption.

Sounds like leukorrhea. Every woman gets it in some form or another. Yours is just a bit thicker than usual, and that's normal. It's not a sign of anything other than hormone production and a healthy vagina.

IF it turns green or has a foul odor, it would be a yeast infection that you need to get treated. Diflucan is a one time treatment that you can take while pregnant. You'll need a prescription for it, and it's only one pill, no suppositories.

Don't panic, you're okay. Your body is just getting ready for birth, so it's trying to prepare itself, and a by product of that is a higher production of leukorrhea. It's unsightly I know, but not abnormal. Good luck!!

you could of lost your mucus plug. that means that the body is preparing for birth. it doesn't mean you are going to go into labor right away, it just means your body is gearing up for the big event. some women lose their mucus plug weeks before going into actual labor. but the discharge could also be normal pregnancy discharge. women get white discharge throughout pregnancy because of hormones. so I wouldn't worry. only worry if you see any blood.

Its probably just Leukoria....normal discharge when pregnant although some notice it earlier than others it is again totally normal. If you ever see any red streaks or brown tent to it please contact your doctor otherwise i wouldnt worry. But, of course if it does bother you in any way always contact your doctor.

It's just hormones and your body getting ready for the big day. If you feel kinda yucky, just wear a thin panty liner,

Good luck.
