no you are entitled to think about your past but you have to let go and see that it is the past and will destroy your future if u let it. love yourself i know its old cliche but soooooo true. We dont have to have men to make ourselves feel good. we have to feel good about ourselves and will hopefully make good relationships because of it. love and best wishes

The problem with living in the past is that you miss out on all the good things about the present.
You seem to have a nice guy who cares enough about you and your feelings to want to hear about them. If you don't resolve your issues from the past, you're going to lose that.
Get counseling. Get it to heal yourself and be happier(you do want to be happy, right?), and get it so that you can enjoy this new, seemingly good relationship, and get it so that your boyfriend can benefit from really knowing the good person you are. Also, get it so that you don't put yourself in the same situation again. After a while of going by yourself, having your boyfriend come along might help him understand why you are the way you are and enable him to help you change your perception of relationships.
You deserve to be happy. Go out and get that for yourself.

I know it takes time but remember he is not the same guy and doesn't deserve to be treated that way. It is sad that some ppl can be so unfair but if you want to be in a relationship you have to give your new guy a fair chance otherwise you may never really feel the love he has to offer. Take baby steps...talk to him about little things or whatever....let him earn your trust but give him a chance....
You deserve it and so does he. All the best.

Please try to go get counseling. It will be very hard for you to have anything resembling a healthy relationship until you deal with your past. Sorry it's so cliché, but it's true. You went through some awful things at a very young age, and you owe it to yourself to take it seriously and deal with it head on. Honestly it sounds like you shouldn't even be in a relationship now. I don't know how old you are, but if your boyfriend loves you he will let you get help and agree to let you grow and learn slowly. If he can't deal with that, please try to concentrate on yourself, by yourself. It will pay off in your future relationships and the way that you communicate with people. Good luck to you!

Yeah, seek counciling. You may be repeating mistakes you don't have to because you adopted bad coping strategies for that one boyfriend.

youll open up to him when your ready. You just have to realize that hes not the same guy you were with before. Maybe you should try explaining to him why your finding it hard to open up. that could help
