I use name brand detergent, fabric softners and dryer sheets yet some fabrics still hold a sweaty odour, what are your suggestions?

I read on the Good Housekeeping website, that for sweaty or sour type odors to add, 1/4 cup of white distilled vinegar to your rinse water, and when it spins out, let them go thru another rinse cycle with liquid softner. The acid in the vinegar neutralizes the odors, and it really works. I had some towels that had soured and I thought I was going to have to throw them away, but this method saved them! (Just make sure you do the extra rinse or he will smell like a big pickle)

I know what you mean. I workout alot and it seems like after a while my clothes will start retaining that sweat smell no matter how many times I wash them. It is bothersome and I finally found a method. Use some Febreze on them at let it dry. Then wash them and most of the smell will be gone, but there will always be a little of that sweat smell. It sure is better than nothing though.Good Luck

Soak the clothes in detergent water for 15-20 minutes before starting the wash cycle.

When washing put in some boking soda and some freebreeze. If that doesn't work try washing them with a can of pepsi, it takes out smoke smells.

Try spraying Febreze on them as a prewash then add Oxyclean to your wash.

Make sure they dont sit more than a day since they are wet with sweat. They tend to sour.
