I try REALLY hard not to lie or make up excuses. But I will lie by omission.

I think it depends on what the lie wuld b based upon really!? I hate lying 2 anyone.. and I hate loved ones lying 2 me! If say.. someone said something bad and embarrassing about a member of my family or one of my closest friends.. I wuld without a doubt tell them this! It doesnt make u a nasty person nor does it mean ur being a trouble maker etc.. it wuld clearly show how much u cared 4 them by lettin them know some1 is bad mouthing them so that they have a chance 2 defend themselves! But otherwise.. Id maybe confront the person myself and get it through 2 them that I will not accept it and therefore 2 tell all those that heard it that it was rubbish! It really does depend what tha lie is.. I wuld lie 2 protect someone, but at tha same time Id expect someone I cared 4 2 be honest with me! Its tha only way any1 will ever learn and grow strong.. by tackling problems themselves rather than being lied 2 in order 2 save them from any pain! If its something youve done wrong and wanting 2 lie about it 2 save urself aswell as tha other person.. then maybe do that if u know in ur heart it wont happen again! Life is short and I think those u care 4 and love, should b given tha same treatment u wuld want!

Depending on the level of consequence that may cause or harm my family; but yes if it's a matter of life and death. Lies don't last forever. It's rather shameful when the truth suddenly surfaces and you'll be the one to blame for the possible consequences. Sometimes, it's not your family's choice to be protected with lies that you may have created.

It depends on the situation. I'd much rather not lie but in some cases it's necessary to alter and tweek the truth just a little. As long as no harm was done.

If life is the search for, and the need for truth, then lying is withholding the the truth which leads people down false alleys. I do think that sometimes delaying the information is prudent.

Sometimes hidding the truth is better than lying. There are certain things that people do not need to know. Especially when it relates to your family. Blood is thicker than water.

Matter on why you are covering for them. Was what they did illegal? There is a little thing called "Accessory" that you want to consider in your protection.

Never. If they were so concerned about a good image, they should have been a good person. Don't go out of your way to spread negativity, but don't lie and do immoral things to save their face.
