i moved to Washington in tyne and wear nearly 5 months ago and i have not managed to speak to anyone yet. I have 4 children the youngest being only 8 weeks old so i can't go anywhere alone like the gym or college. I go to the library and the park and see other mums but the most i ever manage to say is "awww your babys lovelly, how old?" then they answer and thats it. it's pathetic. i feel so depressed. i'm only 25 i am married but i'm so bored everywhere i go i see girls together laughing and gossiping. i miss that soooooooooo much. HEEEELP!!

Find a lively, local church. There will be activities there for mothers and young children. Don't worry about the other aspects of church: you'll be made welcome whatever you believe.

Are your children in school? If they are try to get involved in PTA or something to meet other moms. Or have your kids play sports with other kids thats a good way to meet other moms too.

mother & baby groups?? Are your oldest at school ? Invite one of the Mum's for a coffee? Join the PTA.

surely there must b a mother & baby group in the frozen north? either that or try chatrooms for "virtual" chat & gossip.

well take advantage that you are young so maybe if your just taking a walk and you see a woman your age say''hi'' or, ''how are u today'' and just start to form a random coversation.
