Definitely.

In fact, in some ways it's better than the "real" thing. Here, we can ask, answer or just stay quiet without anybody fretting about why we're in a mood or something equally as gormless. I can leave when I like. Come back when I like. Just kick back when I like and have a bit of a larf at some of the insanity that sets in sometimes. Or just marvel at how sad certain characters are in their pursuit of attention by giving others a hard time.

Direct contact is so much more demanding than this.

And sometimes I just don't want to do demanding.

not really, this site is just to see what others' thoughts and opinions on certain topics. I say getting socialize with friends and people around are more satisfy for human contact.

It does for me these days. I moved from CO to IN about 2 years ago and have been so busy with family things and school that I haven't had time to get out there and meet people locally. All of my friends are strewn across the country so the best we can do is talk on the phone occasionally.

No, it satisfies a need for connection and discussion under a thin veil of anonymity. But it is not a replacement for human contact or for activity, achieving dreams, loving and being loved, or for face to face real life.

not totally but it fills the void that was left when my coffee chat gang broke apart and got full time jobs. It's fun to tune in and see what is on people's minds,and how they express their curiosities or frustrations.

yes. i met my fiance on yahoo! answers, thank you very much! i also found out i have an identical sister out there. yahoo! answers is a blessing.
