These ladies are absolutely right. Continue to take both as recommended, but USE A BACK-UP METHOD of birth control while you're on the Amoxicillin and up to a week after (as mentioned above), because the antibiotics indeed can reduce the effectiveness of the pill.

I see you've been busy...GO BUY YOURSELF A PACK OF CONDOMS! While the antibiotics don't make the pill "completely ineffective," you can never tell if they'll counteract them with YOUR chemisry, or THAT particular time...without the backup, you're taking your chances. I would rather be overly cautious, and deal with the inconvenience of using condoms a few times...

Use a backup method of birth control for 1 week after your Amoxicillin is all gone...don't take any chances. That is what my doctor told me when I was in the same situation. I have also known people who didn't use backup while on antibiotics and actually got pregnant. No joke, be careful.

Antibiotics make the pill ineffective. You need to have another form of birth control until you finish the antibiotics. You could be pregnant

You need to make sure that you use some sort of back up during your antibiotic course. Antibiotics can effect the hormones released in birth controls. Just be careful.....

you should use a backup method for a month...antibiotics can cause your birth control to be less effective.
