It's not unusual at your age to feel depressed sometimes but if you often feel this way, it would be a good idea to call Samaritans and just talk about your feelings. You will find that talking to an understanding stranger about your feelings will help a great deal.

Just call them and ask the same question. You can find the number in any phone book. I'm sorry, I don't know what country you are in or I would put the number here.

I notice from your other question that you are probably struggling to find out who you are. It's a very difficult and painful time, sometimes. What will definitely help is to spend some of your free time helping others. You may like to do something to care for elderly neighbours or help with a charity or something like that. I really recommend that you think about it seriously.

It may be linked to your hormones, or perhaps a slight chemical imbalance that is very common. Please note that common does not mean that it's ok or normal. I went through the same thing, and for me the "phase" was recurring. Please make an appointment with your family doctor. You don't have to tell your parents why, but I suggest you do. Your doctor can help you decide what is causing your sorrow. These feelings are no joke, and you don't deserve to have to feel that way.

You are NOT a kid - you are a teenager. Lots of hormones are going all over the place. Please go and see your GP - she/he will sort out something - it may be PMS. Or it may be depression. Hopefully you will also be offered counselling (I wasn't offered this untill the age of 24) so take this up if you can.

You do not have to tell your parents about this but many teenagers feel that it does help if parents know.

13 is a very difficult age to be and you are probably finding it difficult to please everyone all the time, which is normal for your age.Do you have a favourite adult or trusted friend that you could talk to, which would make you feel better and help you realise that to feel like this is normal and in a short while you will feel your old self again.

Yes it's a phase. I've been there and now I'm 24 and glad I haven't done anything stupid.
