What are some consequences of believing that the majority is always right?

The majority is seldom right, to be honest. But, in a democracy, the majority wins and can do what they like. We are often deceived by our leaders into believing they can change the world when all they want to do is rule it.

Well, 'right' is not based on the counts. It's more on the extent of favour. We can only 'hope' we'll not be numbered as one of the 'vastly deceived'? :D 'Majority' always SEEM to rule. But the chosen majority becomes minor in major concerns thereafter ----when major shortcoming and major deprivation have overcome the great majority of people. That's the 'major rule' we all know. *lol*

Not necessarily. The majority is just the majority of a vote, the higher otes, as you are aware. For me, I think a majority vote is usually just a popular vote. For example, on American Idol, since the people get to vote for their favorite, the best may or may not be picked. Bummer, but that's the way it is if you have to vote on something. American Idol is just an example. The election for governor, president, etc. are good examples of majority votes. If you are not taking about voting, then, my answer is no, the majority is not always right there either.

No, they are just the majority. Look at our president. He won the majority of votes and the majority of this country voted for him. And the irony of this is I would not be surprised if he wins the next election too. So no, the majority is not always correct.

The fact disclosed by a survey of the past that majorities have been wrong must not blind us to the complementary fact that majorities have usually not been entirely wrong.

Not always... take in consideration the Mob mentality.
Just because everyone else is rioting, stealing, jumping off a bridge doesn't mean it's right.
