The amount of alcohol you consumed was small so that is good. The chances of your baby being affected by fetal alcohol syndrome is very very minimal. Try not to worry about it.

You are fine, I did the same only it wasnt for my birthday it was a new job promotion and I went out with my husband and some friends. And let me tell you I could put some away. I later found out that I was 3 weeks pregnant when I done that. I told my doc. and she told me that everything looks okay, just not to do it again of coarse. Which I wouldnt. My drinking days are over now, because I dont want to have a baby and still drink, I dont feel it is responsible. If you are 5 1/2 months pregnant then the doc. should be able to tell if something is wrong. But honestly I think you are fine...just try and not stress out about it. Congrats and good luck with your baby!

It will not harm your baby. The chances are like 1 in a million. The book What to Expect When Your Expecting actually has a chapter over the possibilites of what could happen before and after conception.

Drs. will tell you a small amount of alcohol in the early stages will not harm baby. It is like 99.9% chance that it didn't harm the baby. Lots of women drink before they find out they ae pregnant, and their babies are fine. Talk to your doctor if you are really worried.

no---u should be ok--and so is ur baby. I mean its bad if u drink like everyday and knowing ur prego--but something similar happened to me--i was probably about 2-3 weeks prego didnt know and it was my b-day----I drank like 5 tall cans of beer--and I didnt get drunk and then like 2 days later we went to an amusement park and i got on rides----and found out like 3 weeks later i was prego-----it also crossed my mind that my baby would of been harmed. But my dr. tells me im ok.
And another thing my mom with my little brother didnt know she was prego until she was almost 5 months (i know weird) and she would drink occassionally like 3-4 times a month and my brother is in perfect condition....so u should be fine---stop stressing!!!

good luck and congrats!!!!

I doubt half of a drink one time would affect your baby's health. Talk to your doctor about it to put your mind at ease. If the drinking was more frequent, talk to your doctor about that as well.

Your baby will be fine! Those little ones are alot tougher than we think. Alcohol hurts the baby if you drink alot. (large strong quantities)
I am the mom of 4 and my doctor told me it was fine to enjoy a drink once in awhile. (I do stress "Once on awhile")
So happy pregnancy! enjoy your little bundle
