Actually there were TWO movies given the NC-17 rating at the same time:

Henry and June
Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down


BOTH are considered the first movies to receive that rating.

I think it was Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. Either that or Henry and June..but I think Portrait was first
