Although life has not been found yet, it can look any possible way! For instance, life In jupitur could be floating in the air perhaps. Or on venus, there could be heat resistant creatures that feed on rocks. As for Earth like planets, There have been, beleive it or not, "super earths" found as close as 40 light years away! They are icy (pluto-like) or burning (venus-like) planets supposivly that are 2 x the size of earth or more! Here are links to see more about them!

Yes, there are most likely earth-like planets out there with intelligent life on them. The chances of having life on another planet are close to the chances of winning the lottery several times in a row. They really aren't good, but if you play the lottery several trillion times, it will happen.
There are no real mysteries of the universe, we just haven't thought of anything that would explain what we can and can't see. We are discovering new things every day, so eventually we will discover something big.

Maybe this is the way to look at it.
Back in the days before Western Civilization discovered the New World they had no vision of what it was like.-just fantasy about new lands inhabited by monsters and witchlike societies.(Homer's Odyssey for example)
But amazingly what turned out to be the truth was almost the same.ie-The Mayans, Aztecs,Condors,Grizzly Bears etc.
So I think we will find things consistant with our own natural world.
Strange new civilizations, new creatures.New earth like worlds.
I think travel to these places may not take place within the span of Western Civilization's time.
I think we will have the end of our civilization before we are able to reach or interact with these new worlds.
Unless we can find a way to curb the violent nature of this civilization we will destroy our future on the planet Earth.

I think there's probably other life out there somewhere. We can't be so egotistical as to believe that no one else exists in the entire universe.
Until we get some Star-Trek like technology we probably we won't really know the answer for many more lifetimes.
