By traditions of magic it is not really so much bad luck to walk under a ladder as much as it is to disturb or break a triangle of any kind. Black cats were feared as being witches faimiliars and the "Black cat crossing your path" was more fear of a witch using it's faimiliar to cast a spell upon the individual in question.
Therefore, no I do not think that it would short circuit the effect because they are two different beliefs and fears though both related in someway to magic and/or black magic.

i dont worry about things like that. i walk under ladders all the time, but thats just to get my husband to say something. and we have a black cat. its not a big deal.
