No. The absence of adult supervision at home is the reason. Parents today have no clue what is going on in their kids lives. Don't know their friends or where they go. They hand them everything and then wonder why little johnny is in trouble. TV is an excuse. Poor parenting is the problem.............

This seems to come up in game and movie violence debates a lot, so you may have heard it. Apparently, the cells in the brain fire in exactly the same way (at least in monkeys) when performing an action and when seeing someone else perform that action.

HOWEVER, people who are constantly exposed to violence in lyrics, movies, games, etc.,, are not more likely to commit these actions. The linked article explains why they think that is the case. The gist is - people can actually tell the difference between shooting headcrab zombies with a pixelated shotgun and actually pulling the trigger on real citizens.

Not really, unless the tendancy to be violent is already present in the person, then they may be more inclined to act a certain way.
I really don't think that some teen that is capable of violence would be any different had they been forced to watch nothing but "good wholesome" shows and listen to nothing but classical music.
How about the kid out East that killed is girlfriends parents, he was home schooled and raised in a religious home, so apparently that doesn't do anything for them either.
Both me and my kids have watched violent movies and listened to violent music, but it doesn't make me want to go out and to the same thing.

there is a lot of possibilities for the terms violence to appear in teen, but its to my believe the first aspect that contribute violence to people are people themselves. while classified our species to be the most intellectual and intelligent species on earth, we are still killing each other off in some mindless struggle everyday. or my guesses that its just humans natural instinct to be violence.

Possibly, however what really contributes to teen violence and sex is a lack of intelligent/active parenting. 87% of all criminals in prison lacked a positive male role model in the home.

But in a way no i mean musice is pretty violent but children are smart enough to know wrong from right and not fold under pure pressure

Violence is a learned behavior. Children learn violent behaviors from their family and peers, as well as observe it in their neighborhoods and in the community at large. These behaviors are reinforced by what youth see on television, on the Internet, in video games, movies, music videos, and what they hear in their music.
Teenagers often act without thinking first. When teenagers are angry or depressed, they are more likely to kill themselves or harm themselves or others if they can easily get a gun. It's best not to have a gun in your home at all if someone who lives there is depressed or thinking of suicide, or is a troubled teenager.
If you have a gun in your home, you are 5 times more likely to have a suicide in your house than homes without a gun. An unlocked gun could be the death of your family.

There is this sin in the Bible called the LUST OF THE EYES.
Whatever one sees goes into the mind (influencing the thoughts of the heart thereof) and then this affects one's actions on whatever one decides to do.Especially for the young mind, there is often the desire to practice what one sees.
watching a particular blue movie when I was around eleven years influeced me to a tormenting masturbation for ten years until God delivered me after years of sorrow and DEEP REGRETS.

I think each of us should review the value of a human life. If something is against your principles--contact your local TV affiliate and voice your opinion. Voicing the opinion here does not actually help. 1 voice--is noise. 3000 voices--is heard loud and clear. Do you know who your congressman is? It is easy to find them on the web.
