Where is the best place to get preorder information for the PS3 and Wii?

First, there will only be 400,000 PS3's in North America at launch. 360 had 1.5 million.

I am trying to figure out the best way to ensure that I get a PS3 and Wii on their respective launch dates without paying more than the MSRP. For this, there are two main avenues. One is to camp out in line at a Best Buy or Wal-Mart. The other is to preorder from Toys r us, eb games, or gamestop.

So far, the best method I have found is using the search term "preorder" on digg.com. Using this method, I was able to get a 5th in line spot at an FYE store for the Wii.

The problem is that you have to refresh your search often to make sure you have the latest articles. I tried using an RSS feed on the "preorder" search string, but I found it to be unreliable in terms of grabbing the headlines quickly.

What I am looking for is the most efficient way to keep up to date on the latest preorder info.

Any ideas?

Mmm - same issue here - looking to buy a Wii at the MSRP and not one of the packages that ebgames forces you to buy at launch.

I guess you could try several RSS feeds to see which one refreshes the quickest (try linking feeds from the ps3.ign.com, videogames.com, gameinformer.com sites to start with0.

Maybe look into getting a different feed grabber software?

You can keep checking with stores like Best Buy on a weekly basis or look in the Sunday ads. I've had multiple conversations with store managers of both Gamestop and EB Games where neither store will be taking reservations for PS3 or Wii since they do not want to go through the same problem they did with XBOX 360, as many people were promised systems by Christmas, but never received them.
