Do you mean "memory card" as in RAM, or hard disk? For RAM, usually nothing much is needed. The computer may require you to go into setup and save your current configuration (many will detect when the total installed memory has changed)

what you need to do is put the memory card the right way same way as the memory card's are in your new computer or you will burn them out
