No. I lived in an area nicknamed the 'Ring of Fire'. Right next to the big fault. Felt smaller earthquakes all the time. I remember when the big one hit in San Francisco. Lived 6 hours away...and felt that quake all the way up, left things swaying in the house.
I always thought it was funny that everyone things Cali is just going to fall off. When you consider that the world used to be one solid mass..Pangea...it was the ground moving that caused all the earthquakes. Things are constantly moving, San Andreas fault is a huge faultline, but should it actually separate - California wouldn't just fall off or some retarded thing....it would simply become an island...and who in their right mind would be afraid of THAT happening?? But its something that takes millions of years to happen. How long have the earthquakes been showing up in California and they haven't noticed yet any real marked progress.

Hello from foggy SF, California!

I live here and I never consider earthquakes....except when traveling on BART under the water in the trans-bay tube...that would suck... But I am not afraid of dying in an earthquake... You never know when it is going to happen....so why worry?

As opposed to living on the eastern coast, where every single year you battle hurricanes and tornadoes....Now that is just nuts!

i don't live there ANYMORE, but when i did we didn't live in fear. most earthquakes are reasonably small beans anyway...

as to the THEORY that california would sink if a massive earthquake struck, i personally think its bunk psuedo scientific myth. the displacement of THAT much land mass is ridiculous to presume... try shoving a rock on the sandy beach three inches and then see if it slides all the way under water... probably not. so i SEVERELY doubt the entire landmass of california would slide down into the ocean from a stupid earth quake

I live in Los Angeles, and don't really think about having an earthquake soon. Too many other daily distractions.

No we are not afraid of earthquakes. Most of them are small and feel like a truck drove by.

I would worry more about Tornados and Hurricanes.....

Jesus said himself that no one knows when the second coming will take place (Matthew 24:36). Any person who takes texts from Revelation to say something different are either taking the verse out of context or what they claim to be taking place now in accordance with Revelation has taken place in every decade! Not only will we not even be able to figure out the time but it will come like a "thief in the night" (1 Thessalonians 5) So, there is no answer for you. But our Lord says: "Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victors crown" (Revelation 2:10) Christ is with us, he knows we suffer, but he will deliver us and keep us, he will give us the crown of life!

Not at all. Something you can't prevent. I'd rather shake, rattle, and roll than have my home destroyed in a tornado or hurricane, however
