Or would you prefer political bashing? In which spirit do you answer questions?

RLP, that wasn't a question, that was a pandering attempt to bad mouth liberals, so I slammed you back. That is who I am. If you want an honest debate, I will be respectful. But spreading hateful garbage on this forum deserves my smears, and more. My parents were 17 and worked 2 jobs and went to school, and WE were all honor students and good people as well. Do you really take all the credit for how your children turned out? Pretty lame...time to use that MRS degree for something...

It would be nice to see our politicians putting the needs of the country ahead of what will make their party look good.

As for me, I try to give reasonable answers to reasonable questions, but I have no problem b*tch-slapping an obvious troll or shill.

You answered one of my questions and called me b**chy.
I'm really NOT. I am so tired of liberals that it affects my better judgment sometimes.
I could never be a Democrat but I still think we need partisanship - for checks and balances.
What I don't like - and YES, I am guilty of it - is the mean spiritness that pervades this site.

EDIT - I do take credit on how well my kids turned out AND they give it to me. My daughter called me from college her first year to say she wants to raise her kids like she was raised. She thinks I got it right. The boys feel the same way...honest. YES - I did a good job - me AND my husband. We really are good parents and I have a BA as well as a MRS!! I am more proud of my 24 year MRS though.

I would like to see each party change for the better. Our government-what it has become- needs to see a lot of changing. I would like to see the American people unite. I would like to see people using their own brains, instead of blindly believing the media. There are ways to find out what the facts are, and if people quit believing along party lines, they would be more open to seeing the truth when it is staring them in the face, instead of defending whatever is said or done because their party said or did it. Political bashing is nothing more than a tool used by politicians and fueled by some members of the media, to divert the people's attention so no one will have to focus on the REAL issues. It's a cheap diversion, and ultimately gets us nowhere.

Intelligent, thinking Americans need to unite as a people who aren't going to take it anymore. We want resolution to the problems. We want our elected officials to work for us, not the other way around. They are public servants- we are tired of them serving their own self interests. If you believe too much of what they say, they have us all in their back pocket. We want Representation!

We need at least a 2 party system in a democracy, but it would be nice if we could support each other more instead of fighting ALL the time.

I am a Republican who is sick and tired of liberals bashing and saying such derogatory things against President Bush. It should stop. They can disagree, but not in the way they are currently doing it.

No absolutely not.

Partisanship is the fuel of debate. I have felt for years that the centrists position is a no party position.

Tom Daley in his farewell speech brought up how diabolical the Bipartisan movement was. This amazed me that after a career of corruption he leaves making sense.

wake me up please i have died and gone to heaven lol. This would be amazing ,working together to actually fix something .
Nothing is broken according to the politicians .
THEY work to reduce the numbers and call it a victory .
WE reduced UN-employment ,we reduced health care costs , we reduced interest rates , we reduced insurance costs , we reduced inflation .
WHAT have they reduced !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Nothing comes to mind at all .
THEY increased taxes on the working man , they increased the level of pollution in our atmosphere , the cost of medicine continues to rise , property taxes are up , States and counties with income taxes have increased , the number of service men killed and wounded has dramatically risen , insurance rates have risen so i must conclude that lien has increased all by itself .
Lying is the only thing i have seen that is improving .
WE have an increase in low paying jobs we have increased the number of immigrants here illegally we have increased spend on defense and homeland security and cut vital services across the nation .
I would like to know why we can not solve our problems .
Why are kids going to bed hUNgry and why do we have children dieing of treatable deceases .I assume that in an effort to punish parents for an un-acceptable lifestyle that the children pay .
WE need to end poverty and homelessness in America not reduce the numbers .WE need to make sure all Americans in need of health care have it and the best medications to treat the conditions we all suffer from .We need to make it every Americans job to provide food clothing and shelter to all Americans regardless of who they are and work from this point to help them become productive .
We do not need a minimum wage we need a minimum standard of living .We need to make sure that some of the able bodied people provide some sort of labor for a place to live and a shower and clean clothes so that no one is forced to eat from dumpsters and sleep in the streets .I do not know how to emphasize this more strongly then by saying .THIS IS AMERICA ,THE RICHEST NATION ON EARTH AND NO ONE SHOULD SUFFER IN SUCH A GREAT LAND AS THIS IF IT WHERE NOT FOR GREED AND POWER .
This is what politician is - a greedy self serving form of life that left on his own long enough will enslave and brutalize the people he is meant to serve .
Together i believe more harm then good will come of it.

I would like the parties to work together, but the special interest groups make that nearly impossible. I try to see both sides when I answer on here, but other times it just cannot logically be done.

It's so frustrating to see the two leading parties are corrupted by politicians. I would like to see a strong third party such as the Independants. We use to have "statesmen". Now all we have is people trying to get elected and keep their high paying jobs with wonderful retirements for life!

I hate the bashing, but I don't even bother to talk to the other side because they are so firmly entrenched in their views. I would love open honest discussion about what is best for the country, but it seems like everyone already has their minds made up.

Of course I would. I just don't see that ever happening fully. Each party feels they must bash the other for personal gain. I think the end goal gets lost amidst it all. We all want what's best for our country, but everyone's idea of what's best is different...
