You can either clear out the memory..or your temp files, which is done from the Tools / Internet options on your browser page, and then run defrag...temporarily fixes the problem. You can also run a scan for any spam, etc that has targeted your computer using registry. Spam blockers make a world of difference if you use a good one. Most things you do don't actually get saved to your hard drive..it gets saved to memory. Pictures, music files, saved web pages, that sort of thing..go through and either clear it off as best you can, or save it to a disk if you can.
If that doesn't work, then you need to possibly take it to someone who can actually check deeper into your system.

Many things you can do. 1) clean out your cashe. 2) clean out cookies 3) clean out temporary files 4) Do a defragmentation 5) do a disk cleanup. 6) remove unnecessary programs and files. 7) check your system for adware and spyware and remove them.
For the first three, download a free program called CleanUp! It'll take care of all that for you. Also download SpyBot Search and Destroy...its free and works great.

1.Try to increase your RAM speed by adding more ram to it.
2. Press 'Alt-Ctrl-Del' and go to the 'processes' tab to check out the processes that are running on your pc,end those that are eating up your memory.
3.Defrag your drive
4. Type 'Msconfig' in the 'Run' from your start menu and go to the 'Startup' tab,uncheck those processes for the programs that you do not need.
