A great friend of mine at work wants to give me a computer,BUT IS JUST THE TOWER, I would need to buy every thing else and quite frankly I dont want it, but I dont want to hurt his feeling because he built it himself, and he keeps asking me to buy all the other things such as monitor, key bord, etc. I told him yes a few times just to make him happy, What should I do? Also same person he is going out of town for a a week in a bout a month from now and wants me to house sit take care of his cats, this will be my 4TH TIME in 2 years doing it., I KNOW I SHOULD HAVE TOLD HIM BEFORE. I just hate to say no. Do I do it this last time? Or do I try to say something.

Be straight up with him, because the more you put yourself in this situation; the deeper hole you will find yourself trying to get out of. If he values your friendship based on you accepting his gifts and you helping him out all the time, then what kind of friendship is it really? Friendship is a two way street, a relationship that involves 2 people. It is not a one way deal. So quit beating yourself up, stand up for yourself, and be honest with him about how you feel. If he values you as any kind of friend, he will respect that more than you saying one thing and feeling another way.

Honesty is the best policy. If he can not handle the truth then he is not a friend. You by lying to him are creating resentment and one day it will all explode. If you are honest you will know in yourself that you did the right thing no matter what happens.

If you dont want to do it just tell him no, and if that whole computer thing, it dont make no sense buyin it when you have to get the other things. Just tell him you would rahter buy a whole computer than buy it piece by piece. It makes way more sense.

if you don't want to do it say no. tell him that you have a prior commitment that will prevent you from being able to properly tend to his house and as for the computer tell him you appreciate it but you're just not able to take it right now (tell him you don't have the space or can't afford to buy the other parts) don't be afraid to say no!
