THE NEW QUEEN , OF COURSE

2006-09-06 05:21:08 · answer #1 · answered by (\ G®1M R34|Dê® /) 4 · 2 0

One of the ants becomes the new queen and starts laying eggs. Interesting how that little biological switch gets turned on. None of the eggs produced queens before, but suddenly, one becomes a queen. Not quite as dramatic as a butterfly/moth metamorphosis, but close.

If the nest has not groomed another to be the queen and if they are not invaded by another nest that gives them a queen then they have no source of new ant eggs and the nest will die out.

Go and buy a documentary about ants. I think it's the new queen ant that just hatched from her egg.

Usually, a worker ant is "promoted" to queen status, through a not fully understood mechanism, and becomes the new queen.

Before it dies, it will give birth to some more baby queens so that they can carry on her mission. This is the cycle.

By the way tell you some jokes:

-Doctor! I have a serious problem, I can never remember what i just said.
-When did you first notice this problem?
-What problem?

One more joke:

A guy calls his vet and says "What should I do with my cat?Vet says "What do you mean? Guy says "I had a leak in my lawnmowers gas tank and the cat drank the gas. Then the cat began to run around and around the yard, climbed a tree. then fell out of the tree stiff. Vet says "Is the cat dead? Guy replies "nope he ran out of gas.

Last of all just want to tell you that whatever you do, just don't give up. Also you must love and care for the people around you. In that way they will also show you the love that you show to them. Just be yourself and happy everyday. Wish you all the best and good luck!!

In the case of ants, there are many queens---no problem. In the case of bees, there is only one. (and maybe that's where you are confused?????Queen bees can live 12-15 years. Probably google "Bees+ queens" and it will tell you how it works..... my dad raised bees, and several times bought new queens to improve the genetics of his hives. But that's a different story. Bee raising is really interesting....)

The next queen. A colony breeds about a hundred new queens a year. The extras get to leave with a fleet of drones.

Bees are most advanced socially, and organized creatures , more advanced than us human-being. I suppose once the queen dies, they elect another young queen among them. Remember that all other potential queen die once one has got the position.

A new queen will take the "throne".
But normally the queen is usurped by a younger female before that happens.
