hi, my friend lost his father in the first tower. I lost my cousin in the second. I remember we were in the trailers at school (renovations) when my partner truned on his hand held radio in class. We were doing a news report for the class. Well we heard the news just as our teacher was called out. I started to think of what they were talking about then i realized what had happened. America, the land of the free and the home of the brave, had been attacked by terroists. Our teacher came back in and told us to go back to our first period and wait. We were going home early. Everyone who hadn't heard the newscast cheered. but those who did couldn't believe it. my mom picked me up fromt he bus at my grandmother's house. All 25 cousins from both sides crowded around the TVs and watched in fear. I still remember the way it looked and the horror from the people. I can still feel the hot tears from my family as we heard the news two days later about my cousin who had just graduated college and started there at the towers. She was proud of her job and engaged. She was caught in an elevator shaft with an intern and her boss. Her boss apologized that her first day of work would be her last day on earth. He was saved but the two women died. my friend's father was a good man as well as my cousin being a good woman. We still mourn ofr her death and for the deaths of all the people involved. Yet i spit on every person who says it was a joke or who says it was a tragedy but not a loss. It's despicable.
Blessed Be.

Still gives me chills and I can still remember the horror of seeing it on TV and wondering what was going to happen next. The world hasn't changed our perception that we were safe has changed. The world is the same. There are crazy people out there willing to kill people for no good reason. I think that day made us think about our priority in life.

Yes, I remember that clearly. I was teaching as a sub at a middle school and we all just stood around watching the television. I came home and for days it was on television.
