mer - kafee

but that could be my accent coming through ;)

My boyfriend is an IT guy and he pronounces it Mick Afee

Every computer person I know refers to it as "maccaffey". I don't know if this is because programmers are lazy and don't enunciate, but they're in Silicon Valley so I'll take their word for it.

It's a regional difference. It just depends on where you're from. As long as you spell it right, shouldn't really matter how you say it.
