The one I see most often (and the one that bugs me the most) is the stupid husband/brilliant wife. You know the one -- she catches him pulling the dirty socks out of the hamper and sniffing them, or he's trying to cook for the kids but burning everything so they have to order pizza, or he's trying to clean the house but had to keep asking her where things are. I HATE that!! If they made ads that showed women being idiots and men knowing everything they'd never make it onto the air, but apparently since it's men it's all right.
As a wife and also a mother of 2 boys, it's my responsibility to REFUSE to buy products that are advertised that way!

One that I see over and over is that brunettes are portrayed as being insecure, whether it is over cleaning products or maxi-pads, while blondes just breeze through their commercial lives with no problems at all.
Another one is a dark-haired couple with a blonde baby or children. Or, if a darker skinned child is shown, they usually have blue or green eyes.
Another is that men are stupid and their wives are mean.

Men are hopeless at cooking, and are grouped with children as being the source of housework for the women of the house.

All African Americans dance Hip-Hop and listened to Rap. Our hair are usually nappy and not combed into a style.
