If you use a WYSIWYG editor (What you see is what you get), such as Dreamweaver, you can literally press Ctrl-F and do a "Find and Replace".

Dreamweaver also does a "Global Find and Replace" which basically will change a word throughout the entire site as well as on an individual page.

If however you have a content management system, it would be easier for you to contact your web design company and ask them to do a Find and Replace across the database.

Hope that helps!

As already stated if you are using a text editor for your pages, then a search and replace can be done on individual pages. If you are using one of the better web page editors, you can search and replace the entire site without the need to open individual pages. Of course you still need to upload the changed files.
