I use white table cloths all the time -- cotton or linen. To take out red wine or any other stain, I spray with Zout. Gonzo is another good spot remover. Then I wash normally with either bleach or oxyclean. You could also soak it in a bleach solution according to the label instructions.

Whatever you do, don't put the item in the dryer till the stain is out. Once the stain is set by heat, it's too late.

There is a product called EXIT SOAP which comes in a small bar and is available from Mitre 10, Home hardware and Howards Storage that is excellent for removing red wine stains among other things.

Don't pour white wine on a red wine stain, it does nothing and its just a complete waste of wine. Use soda water on it and goes straight away.

Some say white wine but I think it still has to be wet.

Making the stain wet and covering it in Salt or you could buy Stain Devils (the correct one) Vanish, Bio tex the possibilities are far too exciting and endless better go before i..........

Try "Oxi-clean"....it works on most all types of stains. Blood, grass, and even wine. It comes in powder and a spray, I would test a small area on your linen. Good luck!!
