Let's say you live in a society where abortion is taboo and always illegal plus the fact that this is a question of morality. Most parents in this kind of society would let their daughters get wed to the responsible man just to save faces... even if they are too young to get married...

If there isn't hate between the 2 people, then I believe that they should get married. I was always told by my parents not to bang anyone I wouldn't marry.

So, that is what I did. I never got into that situation, but if I had I wouldn't have had any issue marrying the woman.

If the 2 people hate each other then it is not a good environment. but if the 2 people still like each other, it is better to have 2 parents than 1.

Who knows 5 years down the line you might end up divorced. But at least you had someone to helop through the early years. You can't say you didn't try.

The only place on the planet where the fundy christians have weird ideas about abortion is the US. Everywhere else, abortion is no problem, should she inadvertently become pregnant, and does not want to be. Every child deserves two parents, and to be wanted. The best solution for any unwed pregnant female is to get an abortion. The best solution for any pregnant female who does not wish to raise a child is effective bc or abortion. No child deserves to be born. Prior to the fact that a fetus can survive independently, it is a parasite, a zygote, a clump of cells. The female's wishes should, and do, over-ride anything in all countries except the US where women are made to feel guilty if they wish an abortion. No woman in any other country is treated so poorly. Happily, if she wants an abortion in the US, she can still get one. Best done in the first trimester.

Hmmm...

For that society your describing... yes, marriage is the best solution verses raising your child alone in a society that will look down at you (for being loose) and the child.

However, it would be better to send the pregnant woman out of the area (to a relatives) to live for a while in a place that doesn't know her. Maybe come back later (to her parents) when everything cools down...

The best solution is for both people to accept the responsibility of loving & nurturing the baby.
Getting married would save face, but getting married to save face certainly isn't the best reason to get married.

Marriage is not the best solution- being single and being a mother and raising her child is the best solution. In the event that marriage or abortion were the ONLY options (which I hope never happens) marriage is the best choice.

Marriage is not the answer. A baby doesn't make your marriage work, you do. Getting married just to save face is wrong and you will probably be miserable.

I can truely answer this because it happened to me. I did marry the babys father when she was a year old. I did it because I thought it was the right thing to do, and I loved him. I was wrong both ways. I was married for 2 year and then went through a nasty divorce. My daughter visits her father regularly, and he is a great dad. You can be a great parent (mom or dad) being married or single.

No marriage is not the solution for pregnancy. You will be unhappy with a man you do not love.

That baby will need a father, someone caring who will love and support baby and mother, it that means marriage, then marriage it is. You must now think about the baby - you've made your bed now you must lie in it
