It can be seen both ways...i personally say a person who does commit suicide is a coward...too weak or pathetic to face up to life's challenges or ones own mistakes....on the other hand a person who is afraid of committing suicide is usually afraid of not doing it right and living through it, or the fear of the unknown if they actually were to die. if you think about it most people commit suicide over a failed relationship...if I killed myself every time i had a broken heart, I'd be dead ten times over

A person who commits suicide is a coward, because they choose not to deal with reality and they don't mind making their loved ones suffer their selfish act. A person who is "afraid" to commit suicide might be afraid of the consequences. In that case, the person has a sense of right and wrong and is worth saving.

You can't possibly be blaming yourself for all the pain to the people you love. To even say something like that, you have a false sense of responsibility for others.

No! If you commit suicide the person is taking the easy way out . It takes more to stay here and take care of things. You are a coward if you do commit suicide!!

Quite the contrary, a person who actually commits suicide is a coward because they are not strong enough to face the hand that life has dealt them. Suicide is a coward's way out.

I have faimly members who commited suicide. I was explaining this issue to my children who are pre teen . MY son said something to me that was so profound he said BASICALLY that suicide is a PERMANATE solution to a problem of the day.
I think that a person who is considering it .. and afraid to do it ... is healthly .. they see past the rain .. the fog the uncertainty of the problem and the depression to see the next day. I say they are smart and not a coward. And anyway why would it be considered a brave thing to kill your self if your saying your a coward if you dont. Whats the prize if you do ? Giving God a vacation day?

The one who commits suicide is the coward. Those who do not want to face life and just end it at that moment are cowards. If someone committed suicide in order to save someone elses life...that could be bravery and courage. Life is a gift, no matter how hard one struggles...taking one's own life is selfish and cowardly. They just think about themselves and not the others around them...

ask yourself "are you afraid to commit suicide and does it make you a coward. suicide is for people who can't cope with certain issues and aspects of there life. to take the easy way out of anything instead of facing what ever may be or what ever may come your way is a coward. but I consider suicide to be a disease because sometimes once it starts it spreads like a plague.

NO way! When a person is afraid to commit suicide it actually tell us that he is brave. Because usually people who commit suicide have fears or tension and are afraid to face life so they try to end it immediatly. A person who is brave will never commit suicide and would struggle to live till the end.
