Ok I just started my 3rd semester at this college and I NEED to take this one class. Only problem is: This one professor is the ONLY one who teaches this class: Why is it that they are allowed to do this? You should have options. Here are some ratings that I gathered from myspace AND Ratemyprofessor.com:

This is very typical at small colleges or for classes that are very specific (upper level). Either the professor is an expert in the field or has been there for awhile and can choose what she wants. Don't pay too much attention to the reviews. From my own experience as a student and now as a professor I have found that the more students complain the more they learn. Take the class but prepare yourself to work hard. Start the semester off prepared. Maybe read a chapter or two before the first class. That will put you ahead of the game. Organize yourself and pace your work. Double check all requirements before turning in assignments. If you need help ask. Most professors would rather help you than fail you. She may even have former students that can tutor you. Good luck.

Less people who liked profs post on these sites than people who didn't, so take these with a (very large) grain of salt. I've looked up profs I had and did well with, and their ratings are completely unlike my personal experience in their class. Seriously, she can't possibly be this bad.

I'd work hard, make sure you're prepared and follow directions, and go talk to her if you have questions or are having problems. Frequently, the people who do badly (and then complain loudly) are the people who don't do any of those things.

The person above me (Stacy) said it very well. I teach at a local college and I agree completely.
Next, you can visit your Campus director and ask him/her--(print) show him/her the blurbs from the web site you mentioned. Maybe he/she wants to know this.
Probably though--there are just a few loosers in your college who do not want to work for their degree.
I get a "few" complaints a year as well. I also get 40-50 who would rather have me teach than anyone else.
Are you possibly looking at a minority viewpoint?
Talk to your Campus director about your concerns--believe me, they want to know of problems.

See if you can take it at another college and transfer the credit.

Some of the teachers are really bad. If I knew it, I wouldn't take his class. (I mean the proffessor)
