meaning the stools are soft, not hard and have a size that's more than a fist.
if not eat more fiber, drink more water and juice.
cut down on prepackaged snacks and fast foods...
additives can make it harder to defecate.

You should do a booboo regularly according to the text books. However, they add that in humans the frequency of defecation varies and normal is between 20 bowel actions per day to 1 bowel action per 20 days! I don't really know if the medical text books are helping.
I think most people use their bowels once a day, but there are also many people who don't and who go more or less frequently.
Just get used to what you do and know if it changes.
