Good Samaritan laws tend to be state laws, and thus they vary by jurisidiction (as do the date that the law went into effect).

This would be a state law since there is nothing in the constitution about having to be a good Samaritan. However, I don't believe my state has this law so I don't know what state you live in but you will have to check your state's laws.
