Factors are multiplication. X x Y = Z. X and Y are factors.

4a^2 is a term and -16b^2 is a term

2, 2, a, a are factors of the left term

2, 2, 2, 2, b, b are factors of the right term

4 and (a^2 - 4b^2) are factors of the expression

(a + 2b) and (a - 2b) are factors of (a^2 - 4b^2)

a and 2b are terms of (a + 2b), etc.

3x^3-8x+9 has three terms namely 3x^3,-8x and 9
