we are afraid of the unknown,and not sure if we as people can handle it.

Major events on the world scene make it appear we are in the end times of the bible, and that means the Tribulation and Armageddon will be coming soon. Not exactly the most fun time ever predicted. Even if you don't believe in that, the world is still a messed-up place and seems to be only getting worse, it hardly seems like anything to look forward to.
And oftentimes its personal as well, no one likes to get older. Various parts fall apart and often just quit working altogether, right up to the moment of death. I know that sounds very depressing, but that is what people fear about the future. But it isn't all bad. We will always have good times and then if you do believe in the bible the after Armageddon time is very promising. But when you look right now, its usually the bad we see and not the good.

who's afraid of the future??? I for one am glad to get out of the crappy now and move ahead......and if your talking about being afraid of the end of the world, well s-hit happens!!

I'm not afraid of it. I have a great life and what keeps me better is the beliefe that tomorrow will be even better than today. And it it always is.

because we do not know what the future HOLDS, yes, it is just time, but as time goes,, so is future and present, the future is very difficult to predict, and to say what is going to happen,, specially in today's' modern world, any thing could happen today tomorrow, so I'm scare, but you what man! just as long i have my JAMAICAN RUM AND MY BOX OF CUBAN CIGARS next to me ,, I'll be a happy camper,, SO I'LL BE ABLE TO SEND FIDEL CASTRO SMOKE SIGNALS FOR HELP.. take care, have a great day,,, and thank you for your time..

actually we are not afraid of the future, we are afraid of society, friends, relatives etc
