One of my favorites is the discovery of a fully equipped SCUBA diver found in a tree top after a huge Forest fire. However I don't know what you mean by 'came true'... do you mean 'were later found to be true'? Not really, but people come up with explanations, which was most likely where they came from in the first place, i.e., people playing around with hypotheticals like;
" What if a SCUBA diver was in a lake and..."
