Has anyone continued to work past thier due dates? Today is my due date and I'm here at work. I'm just trying to decide if I should continue to come into my my office job and if it's worth waking up at 6:30 every morning to come work.... I work full time as well. 40+ hrs a week. What do you think?! What did you do?

yes this is my first pregnancy and I sit a desk all day. The worst thing about it all is that my back kills me sitting here all day! I'll take breaks here and there but it doesn't help much. It can be stressful, but not that often.

My doctor was still seeing patients the day she went into labor. But she's like... a superwoman.

I personally would like to be able to have a couple of days to myself before delivery. You know your doc probably won't let you go over a couple of weeks past your due date, so you'll at least know the *maximum* of income you'll be losing if you leave work today...

I have a scheduled c-section coming up, and will take off from work two or three days beforehand, just to coordinate the houseful of relatives, get my hair done, and pack my bags.

Good luck!

Well, my son is 1 now and I am expecting twins....i carried my son for 41wks and 3 days. I worked til the day of my cesarean. I also have a desk job....as long as it dont effect you then your fine. I worked 9hrs. a day w/o a break. Its really about your body and what your body tells you. Some people can and some may not be able to,. But, go for it....sounds like theres no reason why you should stop working so make all the money you can til you go into labor.

I worked my full time office job until the day before I had my baby (I went home early one day, and called in the next, because I had all those crampy feelings and I couldn't concentrate anyway), and I worked my part time job the whole time too (I did cut back a little though) until the week before I had her. (had signs of labor and didn't want to stress out and make her come too early)

If you feel okay going to work, and you still want too, go ahead. But after this long, I think if you decide to, you deserve the opportunity to call it quits now!

Mommy, take a day off I know you need money, but come on I know your feet and your back must be killing you, you poor thing, I'm so lucky to be able to stay-at-home, I cannot imagine the pain you must be feeling with standing up all day. Take some time off and relax. GoOd LuCk and I wish you the best and please take care of yourself. Hopefully that baby makes an appearance I know that It must be feeling like the baby's never coming.

It's generally safe to keep working but I would take the time off and rest. You're gonna need it! I was 4 days overdue with my first and I had taken off the week before so I had some time to relax.

Well, is there someone at work that can drive you to the hospital in case you suddenly go into labor???

I'd say, take the time off now. Relax at home, you won't get much rest once the baby comes.

I think that answer depends on your health and how you feel. If your work does not require much work (at the desk kind of job) I would say stay, however if it does, you need to stop. Is this your first child? Ask your doctor and see what he says.

I plan on taking leave the week prior to my due date if I don't deliver before then. My job is a lot of stress and one of my co-workers is particularly annoying, so I'd like to get out of here as soon as possible!!

I was eleven days overdue and worked up to the last day. Trust your body, if you feel you can't handle it, take time off, otherwise don't worry about it.
I did regret going to an Orioles game though, too many stairs and a long walk to the car.

If you feel okay working then do it. If you have the financial freedom to stay at home then rest before the baby comes home then do that also. I would want atleast a week to rest myself. Because when the baby comes it is all about them. Good luck!
