Why is everyone else responsible for your situation? If you are poor it is your fault. This is the greatest country on Earth where dreams come true and fortunes are made. I am sick of you spoiled little children blaming everyone else for your problems. "School costs too much. My job is too far away. My welfare was cut. My birht control is too expensive. I can't afford air jordans." Stop crying and start taking care of business! If the schools suck get rid of the Cadilac truck and put that money towards a private school for your kids.

I agree. That is the liberal mentality. I am sick of working hard only to see 50% of our income go to support welfare moms, drug addicts (who CHOOSE to abuse drugs), studying the mating habits of fish (we sat at a college graduation and had to hear a professor talk about studying fish in Africa on a government grant and flying there with a dozen people 10 times) WHO CARES!

Get jobs and support your lazy selves. I'm sick of it.

You know William anything can happen to someone.... For instance.
A well off young man mid 30's college graduate on top of the world that has a lot of assets and worked hard for everything he has gotten a house, good vehicles, good job and money in the bank..and lets say he is on the way to work and has a terrible accident with an uninsured /non licensed motorist and he was put in a coma for 15 months and was severely disabled and he lost all his assets and money because the insurance he was paying for without any lapses ran out and the uninsured motorist/non licensed driver sued and got the rest of his assets because of any normal driving incident that everyone makes at least once in their life, and now is on disability income. Who should he blame? the accident, the uninsured non licensed motorist that shouldn't have been driving to start with that sued him, the government for the laws the the above mentioned could sue, the insurance company, who.... Oh yeah he cant complain because he cant say a word due to a crushed larynx from the seat belt that the law said he had to wear. Yes there is people that do take advantage of the system but there are those that are bitten by the system. So when you start preaching to those who are taking advantage of the system your preaching to the choir and for those that cant change the fact would gladly swap places with you for one day.

Try reading the book Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting by in America by Barbara Ehrenreich (http://www.amazon.com/Nickel-Dimed-Not-Getting-America/dp/0805063897/sr=8-1/qid=1157558016/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-5811695-0577746?ie=UTF8&s=books) to see what life is really like for those who have to work two or more jobs to try and make ends meet. Most people don't have Cadillac trucks - those are for the rich folks. Most people who need help rely on public transportation or have ancient cars they're desperately trying to keep running, and those cars won't help pay for a private school.

In the frontlines one man is a hero and gets a medal, another trips on a mine and is blown to pieces. What made the difference? One went to the right, the other to the left. Should the military stop taking care of their wounded?

Although I disagree with the tone, I do concure with the sentiment. There is no poverty in this country. If you live in the United States, you are not poor. Period.

Go to a third world country and visit the poor. Then you will find the true meaning of poverty.

You shouldn't judge so quickly. I know a lot of people who are in school and doing every thing they have to do but aren't fortunate enought to have the money they are trying to make it out there. You shoulnd't judge everyone because what kind of country would this be if every one was rich. Just because u are poor doesn't make it like you aren't doing what u need to do,

Republicans want to cut benefits for our war veterans, our war heros, and the families of our war dead.

I think we should support them even if you don't.

School costs too much.

My job is too far away.

I don't have welfare.

My birth control is too expensive.

I can't afford air jordans. OK, I don't want them, but I can't afford them.

I don't have a Cadilac (sic) truck.
