If you are open to astrology, you will find there are some things that are actually true about it.
Horoscopes is a form of entertainment. I first and foremost believe in God. I do however, have some belief in astrology. Find your horoscope and read up on it and there are things in it that will describe you according your personality. Everything will not be true but if you are open it, you will relate to it.
Now, the part about horoscopes that tell you what kind of day you are going to have, I don't necessarily get into that.
I believe you can read something like that and sub-cauciously make it come true. Now if it brings some type of happiness to people, what is the problem? It may be a false sense of happiness but that is up to the individual. Whose to say that a false sense of happiness will not lead to real happiness?
Some people read it out of curiosity. They might relate to that daily horoscope and they might not. Maybe, they are trying to see if there is something hopeful they can strive for to make their day more pleasant or more positive.
Just a few suggestions to help you and OTHERS understand why people and are interested in their horoscopes.

Some people believe in horoscopes because IT IS something to believe in and others think it's a way to find a connection with another human being.

A Horoscope cast on the basis of for your birth time, city, and country, is a printed circuit of your life and events which follow.
There are many good astrologers in this world who can tell you about your past and future. Thousands consult astrologers and get benefit of their readings. Some news papers and magazines take advantage of this human in born curiosity to increase their own sales by giving random predictions for birth signs etc
people who do not like to get readings from real astrologers prefer to go by magazine/news paper weekly random forecast

Because we all need something to believe in. It can be scary just being alive sometimes. The horoscopes, or how they are ambiguously written, can be really convincing!

Because they have to know what happens before it happens. For example your house blows up in 5 days time (God forbid) you see some flaky lady who knows what is going to happen she tell you for a bargin price of 5.99 you stay alive and now your life costs 5.99. Please you can't aviod things that happen in the future or that would mean you can avoids important things like death an jugement day.

after years of research people have predicted the characters andd attitudes of people in different months and years..these are horoscopes - for instance im a Cancer- cancers are caring and sensitive and thats how i am - but at the end of the day hu knows what could be true there could be Cancers ou there that are complete bitches

cos they're kind of cool and if you read them in the morning when it's rainy and horrible you can daydream about the cool things that might happen to you today based on your horoscope
