This is a good question. An @** by any other name is still an @**.
For RLP- Just because a politician SAYS he stands for those things we all hold dear- morality, integrity, etc.- does not make it true. Just because you want to believe those things about the president does not mean we need to stop using our brains as American citizens.

If Bush was a Democrat, he would have approached areas differently. Democrats think differently...so the question cannot even be a hypothetical question. Maybe if you asked a question like If Bush were a Democrat, how would he have handled his father;s un-fought war, or If Bush was a Democrat, would oil prices be so outrageous?

No, because there is no way that a democrat would do what Bush is doing, Bush cares for the country and the people in it unlike the wimpy liberal dems. Bush is too much of a man to be a limp wristed democrat so the question makes no sense.

Well, if he was a democrat he wouldn't have done things the same way - so the question is kind of moot.... but i'm not a Bush supporter - I wonder what kind of answers you get!

Very thought provoking question and sadly, if I were honest, I would say - probably not.
I do not agree with the President on immigration now though. I think ALL ILLEGALS should be sent back to their own country. But for the most part, what I admire about President Bush is...he says what he means and he means what he says. He has morals, convictions, and stands by what he thinks it right. He does not let polls dictate his every move. I respect that.

Once again, Leogirl said it best, and what she said, I agree with. I would support him, but the fact that he takes on issues on, straight away, isn't paralyzed by polls, and is willing to do what is right, despite withering criticism, would surely make him a democrat that I do not recognize - and IF he were one, I would have to re-evaluate that party. Everything stayed true to form, though, didn't it? Some day, in their dreams maybe, a democrat will show some guts, leadership and vision... but none are visible on the horizon right now.

It matters little which party he is from .
THAT he fell from the stupid tree and it every branch on the way down tells me something .
No matter which party
, I would not endorse or support anything he has done so far .
WAR is wrong ,poluting the enviroment is wrong ,trying to privatize social security is wrong ,cutting taxes on the rich is wrong ,cutting budgets and funding war is wrong , reducing taxes and increasing expenditures is wrong ,borrowing money from foriegn governments is wrong ,EVERTHING BUSH DOES IS WRONG .I can not belief if he where a democrat , independent or from mars it would change my view of him .

There is no way I'll get 10 pts for this, but here goes...
In many ways he has acted like the Democrats of old. You know the ones we had before the party moved so far left that it would promise every first born son to Islam if it would keep them safe from death. I supported Clinton the few times he attacked terror camps in Iraq. Good is good, no matter who does the good. Or a rose by any other name...

Another great question HH. I will play your game. YES, I would support him. He is a war time president and has kept the battlefield out of our borders and contained in the ME. He has a booming economy and low job employment. He gave tax breaks. If a democrat did everything that Dubya has done then he would be supported but not liked by the rest of the dems.

No. I'm a Democrat, but I'm not going to support anybody just for their party affiliation. Bush could call himself whatever he liked, and he'd still be a fool.
