In the short term only physical violence.
REPEATED infidelity. The second chance theory works if you want it to.
Long term- significant difference of opinion regarding items of major importance- finance, child rearing,drugs or alcoholism

The I'm not happy or I need space stuff is not quite up to the level that should dissolve a marriage. Those are reasons given by people who do not revere the concept of marriage very highly. It also indicates that they were not really prepared to deal with the necessary compromise that a marriage entails. Sadly there are too many who go into a marriage with a naive fairy tale idea of relationships.

Cheating is usually the reason. Pls don't be curious over such things: divorce and separation is always very depressing.

for me it was when i looked back on 8 years and realized we had made no improvements and the relationship was going no where. We were just plain unhappy with each other it was not working anymore.
