techniqually you don't have to go to school to become a police officer. You will have to go to an academy. It would be easier for you to get a job and you will get more money if you go to college. It is 4 years to get a Bachelors degree. 2 years for an associates. Then an academy. Some stations have their own acadmy. The Troopers do.

It depends on your force and the regulations. Here, currently, the officers must possess an Associates Degree to go through the Police Academy, but they are changing it soon to a four year degree.

At least a couple years of criminal justice. Or you could get a four year criminology degree. Depends on what you want to do in the police force - if you want to be a regular officer to go for something more academic.

Where I am you do not need college to become one, but to move up the latter you do. Most here have a two year degree, and then others go on to get their four year degree. The only two things here is a high school diploma, and someone high up who owes someone else a favor. Good luck

In most areas, police officers do not need an education past high school. In fact, most officers barely graduated high school.

As far as I know, they'll take you if you have at least graduated from high school. However, they may pay you more if you have a college degree.
