I remember getting S&H Green Stamps and Plaid Stamps and helping my mother stick them into those paper stamp books, and after collecting enough to get something, going with her to the redemption center / store to cash them in. What other kinds of stamps were there? I'm sure I've forgot some. The stamps received at the checkout were based on your total money purchase. What were some of the cool things you got with the stamps?

GREAT THINGS I GOT WAS CORNING WEAR DISHES, CAMPING GEAR, WEEDEATER, AQUARIUM, DISHES,AND BEDDING LINEN, REMBER GETTTING GLASSES IN LAUNDRY SOAP PURCHASES ALSO.....RUNNING WITH SISSORS,AND NO SEATBELTS WERE COOL BACK THEN TOO.

I remember the stamps. Big Bear stores in Ohio had it's own stamps they were sort of tan. I think they were called Big Bear Stamps but I'm not sure.
Does anyone recall coupons on cigarette packs? My aunt used to smoke a brand that gave prizes.

Wow....that was a long time ago. S & H Green stamps! It sure was fun too. I remember getting lamps for the stamps. I don't remember Plaid stamps.

My mother and I pasted those stamps too. We got Piggie stamps at the Piggly Wiggly, and I rememer trading some of them in for a pink peacock chenille bedspread for my ultra pink room -- I was around 7 year old at the time.

I remember that very clearly, not only did my Mother do it but I did too. I really miss it, you got some good stuff with S & H green stamps.

I do, I do!! But I don't remember anything my mom got, sorry. I know she did get stuff, tho. It was fun! Looking in the "big" S&H Green Catalog - a pamphlet really - and dreaming about getting stuff. What will we save our stamps for? What will we pick?!? Those were the days!

I do. S&H Greenstamps. I live in Greenville, NC and you can still get S&H points at Lowe's Food Stores.

good memory--i remember those --also cigarettes had them--Belaire/Raliegh and could also be redeemed for household novelties and merchandise
