Call the city health inspector from your city (county health inspector if you don't live in a city) and they will recommend a reputable contractor who can do this.

Generally if there is asbestos there it's best to leave it undisturbed and just paint over it so the microscopic fibers stay encased in the paint barrier. It's not harmful until it gets into the air--the paint keeps this from happening.

the only thank you to appreciate with regard to the presence of asbestos, no count what different history you have on the domicile, is to have a professionally approved inspector take samples and have them lab examined. something is a wager. Few residences fairly have asbestos.

it's not necessary asbestos, unless they all have lung cancer
check if your water pipes are old (lead), if there is mildew (in heating vents, behind wall panels), if you have peeling lead paint, or if your house was built on or close to a waste deposit

DIY: which rooms did they frequent most? did they eat fruit from the garden? what else connects them in their habits?

If you have asbestos, be prepared for a very expensive and lengthy method of elimination.
Maybe move.
