"Enlightenment is knowing that enlightenment is an illusion" is an opinion; you must define "enlightenment" which makes the term subjective.
Your second statement is true for a man; I would compare it to the mathmatical reality that you could never stop counting because you can always add 1 to any number. If you could live forever, you would always be "learning" because history changes by the second; to learn and know what happened "before" would never end provided time kept advancing.
Of course, you would have to discount God and I can't do that.

I have found that the most valuable points of my knowledge have nothing to do with what is in my own brain. But I can recall people that I have met, sources that I have used, and for most questions I have a place to go to find the answer.
That means I have to accept that you will never know everything. And it demands that I connect with the human race, rather than going off sitting in some cave.
And maybe Enlightenment isn't really an illusion of complete knowledge of all things, but rather a specific knowledge of the people we react with, our own selves, and our place in the universe.

There's a logic problem with that statement.
Enlightenment is an illusion. If enlightenment is an illusion, then it does not exist, therefore you don't exist if you're enlightened.
So, does that mean you stop existing when you become enlightened? Or is enlightenment an impossible goal?
The statement is ambigious.

Everything is an illusion. Some may even believe they are reading from a computer screen. None of this exists. Nothing exists except your beliefs that have been pre-programed.

You find yourself when you know you need not look for yourself.
