She is on the heavy side but if she is very tall than its normal.I have a almost 11 month old and he is 18 pounds 12 oz and 28 inches tall and he is perfect, not skinny and not chunky. One thing that happens is at this age babies eat alot of snacks like baby cookies, puffs and cheerios and to many of those makes kids get the chunk real fast so watch how much she eats of those. My third child was big on the snacking and was 23 pounds 2 oz and 28 inches at 11 months old and he was heavy but did not look fat but all my kids are on the short side and muscular and muscle weighs more than fat so if you have a muscular 23 pounder and a unmuscular 23 pounder the second baby is going to look much fatter because her weight is mostly fat.The same reason both me and my husband can weigh 170 pounds and he looks alot smaller...because his is mostly muscle and mine fat.

I really think it all depends on the child...my 4 year old weighs 37 pounds and is slightly under weight....the child eats from the time he wakes up till the time he goes to bed. my 3 year old weighs 30 and shes really tall and skinny, and eats less than i would like. my 19 month old weighs 26 and eats a lot...so its not too much to worry about...my friends little girl was a fat baby and when she turned around 7 years old really started to sprout up and slim down.

do not give a 1 year old 2% milk!!!! they need the extra fat that whole milk provides to insure proper brain growth!!! A good rule of thumb is by 6 months old your baby should have doubled her birth weight and my 1 yr old she should have tripled her birth weight.
ex. birth weight 6 lbs 3 oz
6 months 12 lbs 6 oz
12 month 18 lbs 9 oz

I'm Laurie and I've lost 60 pounds. I went from a size 14 to a size 6.Since I've lost the weight I feel great. I have lots of energy. I'm willing to do different things. I just love going out, and playing with the kids, and having fun. It's changed everything. My whole life has changed.

My baby is 9 months old and weighs 22 lbss and is 27 in tall. She is in the 90th percentile for both so she is proportinal and healthy. She is not overweght and neither is your baby as long as she is tall as well.

Ask you pediatrician as well for her % to make sure she is proportional. Otherwise, she sounds healthy to me.

Do not, do not, do not fove her 2% milk, there is not enough nutrition in 2%, always give them whole milk unless dr says otherwise.

Good luck.

too big. Don't know her height though.
Watch her formula intake and start her on 2% milk at the age of 1 instead of whole milk. These precautions will help decrease the chances of an overweight child.
