You would have to go down to the courthouse in Raleigh and inquire about volunteering. They may or may not have something for you. Your background has to be checked and this takes a lot of time. If you want to volunteer in legal, apply at a few of the Attorney's there. I'm sure you would find something and also gets lots of experience at the same time.

I would check on-line at your local community spot. We ahve one here in Massachusetts called MASSLIVE>COM
Also, call the court house and ask.The Sunday newspapers also contain Volunteer opps.
