Because Russia doesnt have the power to fight us, and the UN will back a war with Iran. Iran is developing Nuclear capabilites, so if they did declare war on the US they would expose their allegiance to the axis of evil and wouldnt have any voice in the UN. you sound like you are friends with Iran and hope they dont get invaded, you sound like a terrorist. Besides the fact you cant speak english, you share terrorist and arab views. Allah is Fake, the God of Christianity and Judaism is the ONLY REAL God.

A great deal of the answers to this question are greatly offensive and show the sheer ignorance of those replying to someone who has asked a question in good faith. Comments like "Allah is Fake" are uncalled for.
The fact of the matter is that the US is unlikely to invade Iran. There is too much going on in the Middle East with the Lebanon situation and Iraq. Most countries seem to support the fact that the Iranians should cease what they are doing and are trying to prevent this through the UN. Unfortunately at the moment Iran has a better hand to play than usual as their influence could help the crisis in Lebanon, they know this and are therefore seeking to ignore the UN demands.
Once the Lebanon crisis is over I believe that the UN may step up the pressure on Iran. If this does escalate to conflict then it would not be the US invading Iran but rather a coalition of UN forces. This coaltion could include China and Russia but even if they disagreed with any future conflict they would be highly unlikely to go against the will of the UN, an organisation where they are full members.

this is fairly simple russia and china dont want and upset with us over a country like iran we have to many positions held right now that puts us in a great position to hit hard from all directions we got korea iraq kuwait germany granted 1st ID did just leavenot too mention cutter and a few other lightly enhabited places if we went to war with iran though it would be devastating very much so they are ones to mess with it wouldnt be like here i feel wed lose as many in a year there as weve lost in 3 here one thing though is many of the insurgents we capture are syrian or iranian and are not iraqis that the prob we cant control the borders but seriously the main insurgents killing americans are not iraqis a lot of iranian religious extremists hold a higher religious standard baghdad and other parts are becoming moe westernized in living and its kind of a blow to muslim extremists who believe women should cover up and not drive should keep their mouths shut i mean hell they can have multiple wives the women arent even allowed to drive here

Russia is too broke, and China's economy is growing like wildfire due to our trade. Why do you think Iran is so innocent? Personally I wouldn't care if Iran nuked someone. Then let the folks start whining. I can guarantee they would be then whining why we didn't do anything. They actually have already started that.
