I have many actually, but my first favourite was Severus Snape. I have even gone to the sad lengths of writing fanfiction!
My other favourites are Lucius Malfoy, Remus Lupin and Tonks. I love how Lucius is so suave, although I know that is mainly from the films, They made a great choice in the actor they chose. I love Remus because he's so kind, and also very tortured in being reject by most of society because of a condition he has no control or choice over. I love Tonks because she is the spunky funky character and gives light relief to the main plight of the Wizarding World.

Draco Malfoy, the bad boy of Hogwarts is my favorite character. He starts out in the series as an elitist kid, but goes on to show that he (like Harry, the hero) goes after what he wants and sticks by what he believes in - even though it may be the unpopular thing to do.
For example, he offers his friendship to Harry, then is naturally offended when he is turned down and insulted publicly, so afterwards he says and does things to get even with him for it. His father warns him that it isn't wise to make an enemy of Harry because the wizarding world regards him as a hero. Draco knows that is true, but isn't willing to bend to what is popular. He feels Harry wronged him and isn't going to just let it go. Besides, I find his caustic comments and trademark smirk amusing.
Also, he is just a kid that is trying to please his father and doesn't seem to be able to measure up to his expectations. Some people don't like him, but he believes what his parents have taught him. No exactly unusual for a 11-16 year old. Anyway, I think it that he has grown a lot in Half-Blood Prince and I'm really looking forward to seeing if he will turn against Voldemort (like I think he will) in Book 7.

Well, there are so many that I like I don't know how to choose. I like Hermoine because she is so smart and loyal. Then there is Ron, he is such a goober but a great friend. Then there is Harry of course, he's been through so much. Dumbledore, Arthur Weasley, and Hagrid are wonderful, mostly because they are father figures to Harry. Sirius is way cool, but I bet he was cooler before Azkaban. Lupin and Tonks with their love struggle are great. Oh, and Ginny because she can hold her own with all those older brothers. And Fred and George always crack me up!!
Can you tell that I love them all????

I have read all of the books and watched all the movies. I think that my favorite harry potter character is Hermione. She is really brillant and she has character, she won't let anything happen to Ron or Harry. She fits my attitude really well and she likes Ron alot and she is afraid to tell him that and that is one thing that we have in common.

Lucius Malfoy is my favorite character because he is the stereotype of upper-class horridness. Whenever there is a confrontation between Lucius and Arthur Weasley in the books, they are so well done. They're like little children playing "I'm better than you," when neither of them are really very good examples for their children. He's a very rich (pun intended,) Jane Austenish villain.

Harry - because he's been through a lot but handles it very well for a kid. Like how he rushes into things heart-first, without thinking about the consequences - bit dangerous at times, but there aren't many (real) people like that these days.

My favourite is Hermione, mainly because we are very similar. I know, we can both be very annoying in our endless pursuit to be the best in class, but some of us just enjoy learning. Hehe! Also, just think how much trouble Harry and Ron would get into if they didn't have Hermione to warn them of the dangers of magic and perhaps more importantly, to help them with their homework!

None of them - but I do find it interesting that Harry Potter is such a loser...an alternative question would be why do all the characters major and minor defer to the legendary HP who is complete sh*te in any confrontation or situation either physical, magical or mentally challenging - 9.5 times out of 10 he "wins" a conflict through the intervention of A N Other character or some other form of deux ex machina...what a loser

It's hard to choose...I really like them all, Hagrid because he is so funny, sweet & sincere, Hermine because she is so smart and forward, Ron because he is a lovable goof and is friends with Harry nto because he is special but because he is genuine. Dumbledore (the original in the movie) because he was just a great character.
But if I had to choose I would say Hagrid...
