Heres what you do advertise somewhere that company's service with free phone (your old phone) and a contract of only 5 months. (Time left remaining on contract).

After you find someone, ask for a transfer of liability. Both of you will fill out the forms.

That's it . No early termination fee and no liability. Even if it was a complete stranger, you are no longer liable for the phone calls made on that account.

in case you signed a settlement in which you agreed to pay an early termination fee, you're out of luck. they are going to argue which you signed a settlement and that they are going to tension you to pay.
