I'm not even sure what Dutch food is, even after 8 months in the Netherlands. I want to take visiting family out for dinner. Any suggestions?

I live in Amsterdam and I do not like to eat in one of them ''restaurants''. Also, there isn't such thing like ''Dutch food''. There is, only mushed potatoes with sausages! Try the Chinese restaurants.

I went to a place on the De Clerqstraat, but forgot the name of the place. Also the Roode Leeuw on the Damrak is excellent, it is just before you get to the Dam Square.

Anyway, a good website for restaurants in Amsterdam is:
http://www.iens.nl/english/restaurantsIn/Amsterdam/index.htms?
You can select on where you are planning on going, then on the type of cuisine.

Take them to one of those resturants that serves the savory pancakes. These are not breakfast pancakes they are served at lunch or dinner. I was in Amsterdam last year and found a place near the Museum of Amsterdam. There is a tram stop there.
