The previous answer is correct but it sounded very patronising and condescending....

The British King (or Queen) doesn't get involved with political parties. They have to remain neutral and respect all sides and work with whoever is elected to the government. If a monarch chose to support one side, Britain would have a constitutional crisis. What if the other side won power? Then how could they work with the monarch?

Dear, he was the King. He didnt 'do' parties

We didnt have political parties back then, just loose groups of land-owners. George also didnt give a real stuff about Parliament.

Is he the only Monarch you guys know about?

Just read Mr Googles response, im sorry if i did sound patronising, that wasn't my intention :) I simply meant that back then, Parliament didnt rule like it does now, the King still directed policy.
